Studio
Typotopia is a solo design studio + consultancy with a network of collaborators and producers. The graphic design produced by the studio is highly motivated and derived from a particular understanding and appreciation for text and letter forms – therefore typography performs an essential task in ideation and design.
This site represents independent, collaborative, commissioned projects and investigations – the current focus of the site is on printed matter – internet and motion based design categories will be displayed in the near future.
Process
The methodology at Typotopia is highly analytical and places equal emphasis on process and product – generating designs that are simple, clear, concise and meaningful. It should be noted that the client + designer relationship is informal, vital and valuable within the design process in this practice.
Edvin Yegir
Edvin is the principal designer + producer at Typotopia and coordinates all collaborative and production matters.
His university education + certification in the States include: An undergraduate degree from Central Connecticut State University in Special Studies: Philosophy, Psychology and Graphic Design in 1991 + an MFA degree in Graphic Design from the Yale School of Art in 1995.
